  • Mahabodhi Temple

As one of India's most venerated holy destinations, the Mahabodhi Temple is not merely a place of worship, but the precise location where the Buddha attained supreme enlightenment. The palpable sense of serenity permeating this meticulously constructed complex captivates visitors across all generations and faiths, inspiring many to make a pilgrimage here at least once in their lifetime. Originally commissioned by Emperor Ashoka in the third century BC and meticulously restored under British stewardship in 1880, the complex was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2002. The sheer splendour of the sanctuary is spellbinding, comprising: Expansive temple grounds surrounding the primary shrine, which enshrines a gold-painted deity. The revered Bodhi Tree alongside a tranquil adjoining pond. A secluded inner-courtyard meditation area. An exquisite meditation garden embellished with gentle fountains and resonant bells. Here, beneath a single sacred expanse, seekers from around the globe experience genuine divine peace.

  • Thai Monastery

Standing as the singular Thai temple within India, the Thai Monastery of Bodhgaya was erected by a Thai monarch in 1956. The project was initiated at the invitation of India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, who sought to fortify diplomatic ties between the two nations while promoting the enlightened teachings of the Buddha across the country. Exuding classic Thai architectural elegance, the structure is instantly recognizable by its gracefully sloped, sweeping roof adorned with radiant golden tiles.

  • Great Buddha Statue

Standing at a towering 25 metres in height, this monumental effigy holds the distinction of being the tallest, largest, and first monumental Buddha statue ever constructed in India. Situated directly adjacent to the Mahabodhi Temple, the grand monument was consecrated in 1989 by His Holiness the Dalai Lama. The approach to the statue offers an unforgettable visual experience, flanked along the primary passageway by ten smaller, finely sculpted depictions of the Buddha's inner circle of disciples.
